Since you took the time to try out our little game, I wanted to come return the favor and I have to admit - I'm not gamer enough! I struggled when flappy bird was a big deal and maybe it just means that auto-runners aren't for me. The buttons also felt off (after ten attempts my big brain realized we could just move our fingers away from default asdf which helped some) but I think I just didn't have the processing speed (me, not the computer).
Only constructive feedback I'd give is if it's possible to adjust the speed, start it off slower, particularly when those first instructions are being given and then have the speed gradually increase. I say if it's possible because I am clearly not any sort of a coder, so I tell the real part of my dev team what I think should happen and then they try to explain to me why it's impossible (physics are dumb).
Overall, this is a super impressive game! It looks like you might have been a single person which makes it even more impressive! I hope that if nothing else, you find that you enjoyed the exprience and keep churning out fun games.
P.S. I agree on being a good mobile game. My brain went to tapping to jump, holding to shelter but then realized I was out of easy inputs for the vines..though they do seem to also auto collect. Ignore my rambling.
Hey, thanks a lot for the feedback! It's super valuable to me. I see your point with the inputs and the speed - I feel this highlights what other feedback has also raised, that I should've playtested this and try to get other people to test it. So it's a big learning for me on future attempts: save some time and get other people to test your game!
A fun little auto-running game that I unfortunately couldn't' get very far in.
I'm not sure if it's a bug or not but when trying to use the cover it kept turning on and off really quickly rather than stay covered. It killed me a ton, sometimes it worked but most of the time it didn't.
It's really tricky to try and use only 1 function at a time, I'm not really sure of the design choice to make it this way. I almost immediately stopped bothering with the vine cos you could just jump into the water which seemed like the better choice, not that it helped me get very far anyways.
The random green things flying at me combined with being burned in the sun immediately followed by running into a treannat (I think?) meant a swift death for me almost every time.
A cute little dude in very difficult and hostile world for sure.
Thanks a lot for reviewing! I agree, in hindsight the one-at-a-time constraint seems too harsh. I feel like this highlights more than nothing that my game lacks a lot of playtesting.
I truly appreciate your time testing it and the review. I'll keep learning from all of this.
All the best!!
EDIT: sorry, I answered from bed kinda sleepy - one quick comment: the "cover" ability depends on keeping the C button pressed. That's perhaps why it's not working or turning on and off... sorry, probably another design flaw ๐ Thanks again for playing and reviewing.
i like the idea of this game and i really enjoyed playing your game , Even tho i had a problem while loading i think its a godot problem but anyay Keep it up ๐๐

It's a very creative use of the theme to create these mechanics. I had a great time playing this game.
Congratulation on your submission, keep it up !
Thank you very much for trying it and for the kind words! <3

Yes, it has happened to me with other godot games as well. Luckily you were able to try it!
